Chinook

Released in 1985 through a breeding program in Washington, Chinook hops have been a popular choice with brewers for decades. Bred from an English Goldings variant and a male high in alpha acids, Chinook was typically used for bitterness. Craft brewers, however, have given it new life as an aroma hop by capitalizing on its citrusy and herbal aroma profile!
Alpha acid: 10.7-15%
Aroma profile: Herbal, almost smoky character which is reminiscent of tarragon, juniper, basil and lavender, well-balanced citrus and sweet fruit notes, including grapefruit, orange, kiwi and passion fruit.
